About the Shop
Big Kid Science devotes 100% of revenue (yes, revenue, not just profits) to a combination of free public outreach efforts and donations to nonprofit organizations that share our goals. In recent years, these outreach efforts have included creation and ongoing development of the free Totality app, the creation of a free digital curriculum for middle school Earth and Space Science, a program of free author visits to schools and communities, and our donation of more than 30,000 books and 100,000 eclipse glasses to school children around the world. To help us continue these ongoing efforts, we encourage you to purchase our eclipse glasses and books with the links below. We’ve also included links for donating to some of our favorite space education nonprofits. Thank you!

Support Nonprofits
Big Kid Science, the creator of this free app, encourages you to show your support for the app by donating to some of our favorite nonprofits focused on STEM education:
The American Astronomical Society
Big Kid Science donated the Totality app to the American Astronomical Society because they are the premier organization for American astronomy, and actively promote public understanding of eclipses and other education programs. Click here to donate to the American Astronomical Society.
Story Time From Space
Story Time From Space is a project of the Global Space Education Foundation in which astronauts on the International Space Station video themselves reading children’s books and conducting related science demonstrations. The videos and additional curriculum materials then posted freely for anyone in the world to use. Learn more or donate to Story Time From Space
The Astronomical Society of the Pacific
For more than 100 years, the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (ASP) has inspired professionals, researchers, educators, amateurs, students, and others to look up and wonder about our place in the universe, and about what the universe can teach and tell us about ourselves. Check out the ASP’s great astronomy products or donate directly to support their outreach efforts.
Voyage
Voyage is a project of the National Center for Earth and Space Science Education that offers permanent, outdoor scale model solar systems to communities around the world. This photo shows the Sun and inner planets of the Voyage model on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
